usb ports

Some of my usb ports don't seem yo be working. Can soneone tell me whats wrong and how can I fix it? I'd be gtateful for your help

Assuming you have Windows XP:

Start - my computer - view system information (in left hand panel)

Click 'hardware' and 'device manager'.

Scroll down the list until you see universal service bus and click each one in turen

Ethel I'll try that. It is xp. Thanks your my star It sounds so simple to fix but I always need a lot of help when things go wrong.

That won't fix it - but it will tell you if they are all working.

If there is a problem, there is a 'troubleshoot' button for further help.

It's usally driver related, and the troubleshooter can download the correct drivers.

eth ... does he have to go to turen (or is it shrouded in mistery?)

just 1 more question ... USB ports tend to go round in groups (headers).... .is it random ones ... or 1 strip?
