Hello ladies. Hope you are all ok, i havent been on AB in ages as i got made redundant and have a new and very busy job so no time for AB .... sob sob!!!! I am now 26 weeks pregnant and looking into buying a travel system for baby cakeface. The 2 i have seen that i like, although expensive, are the Graco Quattro Sport and the Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe. Any body got either of these and are they a good choice?
Thanks in advance!!!!

i havnt had a graco but ive had a few prams and pushchairs.

what do you want to be using it for? Are you aware that baby should not be kept in a car seat for more than and hour and should really be layed flat as much as possible.

try and find one with a carrycot to enable baby to lie flat, some come with a soft cocoon type carrycot but they tend to be very short and narrow so baby wont be in it for long. They cant use a pushchair that doesnt lay flat until about 6 months of age either.

Make sure you add your name to the roll call so that we can see when baby is due.

Thanks Red, the reason i liked this one was because it came with a carry cot and also the car seat and the base that lives in the car that the car seat just clicks into, rather than struggling to strap the car seat in with the seatbelt. Since baby cakeface is due 22nd August i thought this one was nice and sturdy and seemed very stable so would be good for long walks to try and shift some of these extra pregnancy pounds and get baby off to sleep. So really i wanted a good all rounder, i did look at some other travel systems but they just seemed too flimsy if you know what i mean!!!!
oh yes i know, some one them are so wobbly!

Ive not heard anything bad about the graco really, its a good alrounder for the money.

Just check on the size of the carrycot part? are there any that you like that have a solid carrycot, like the quinnys or the loolas? the solid ones last that bit longer.

Do you know what you are having, boy or girl?
We was looking at the quattro deluxe system until I decided a pram would better suit us. Like you, we liked the system having a carry cot. Mine was due in February so I felt she needed to be nice and snug.

At 12 weeks old, she still has her main nap in the day in her pram and looking at the size of her now, theres no way she would fit in the carrycot of the quattro now. Sometimes she will sleep for a couple of hours in her pram so the quattro would not have been suitable.

I havent heard any bad reports on them either and this is just my own observation and opinion.

Congrats on your pregnancy, although Im sure I remember you announcing it before? Anyway, keep us posted and I hope for your sake we dont have a heatwave this summer lol
my baby is on the large side but at 2 weeks old she is already 60cms long, try taking some measurements if you can.

do you want a small folding pushchair or a large flat fold one? one handle is often easier to push with one hand too whereas an umbrella fold needs both hands for pushing. Also look for one that is forward and rearward facing
i had a graco travel system deluxe, I bought the one that could be a pram as well but never used the pram facility, just laid baby down in the buggy. I love gracos, I wouldnt buy anything else, they steer well and are easy to collapse/ They can be a bit bulky so not ideal for the bus or very small cars I am afraid.
I have the Graco Quattro Tour Deluxe (blimey that's a mouthful!) and find it really easy to use and to collapse. The only thing I would say is that although I thought it looked quite big, and it is in comparison to other travel systems, it is still incredibly easy to manouver and doesn't feel bulky atall. It comes with the soft carrycot thingy but with today's weather my poor little one was baking (3weeks old) and so, like Goodsy says, I laid her down in the flat pushchair position - it has straps to keep her safe. The carseat is really good and is easy to use both with and without the frame, and it comes with lots of layers so that as baby grows she'll still be able to get use out of it, and now she weighs over 10lb it's just as well!

P.S. The cheapest place I saw it was Toys R Us
Blimey ladies! Your little girls make mine seem tiny! lol

At 12 weeks old she is 12lb 4oz and 59cm! Yours are much younger yet not far behind lol
Mine was 8lb 8.5oz and a week overdue, she's gaining well bless her! She's a right little oinker when it comes to feeding, I even had a minor panic after seeing that Too Fat to Toddle documentary last night :-O

How much was Holly? She was a bit early wasn't she?
Oh I forgot to watch that!

She weighed 7lb 13oz and was two weeks early thankfully, otherwise she wouldve weighed about 9lb! lol She is a poor eater though. She has only just gone up to 5oz feeds but she is gaining weight well. I think she has a secret stash of rusks under the mattress in her moses basket! lol
Just as a wee comment ladies..I was 59cms at birth! lol
They thought I was going to be a giant....Well, it certtainly happend, but not in height.....lol
max my oldest wasnt far off it, she was 56cm at birth and I think shes going to be tall and slim like me (well, I used to be slim lol) My mum cant remember how long I was but I weighed 9lb 3oz and because I wasnt at all fat, the midwife thought she had made a mistake and weighed me again. The weight came from me being so long. My little one was only 49 cm at birth so must take after her father lol
lol Psychick! I was 59cms and 7lb...Doesn't stay that way, unfortunately!

Thanks for all your answers ladies, sorry i havnt been able to reply before now!!!! This job has ruined my answerbank addiction!!!! Yes i have noticed this pushchair is quite bulky once folded, it only just fits in the boot of my car but its a sacrifice i'm prepared to make cos i really like it! I have looked at the other makes you mention red and although i do like them they seem a bit more expensive cos you have to buy all the different bits seperately which i was trying to avoid. We did go to toys r us and got the sales assistant to bring it out and try it in our boot, after about 30 seconds she looked a bit nervous like we were going to drive off with it lol!!!! And no i dont know whether its a boy or girl, although i have a feeling its a boy but i will probably be wrong after spending 9 months saying "he".....
And thanks Psychick, i am praying for a no-heatwave summer but i think i am going to be out of luck as its been nice this week already!!!! Thanks again for all your replies!!
