Hi

We have a 3 door Rover 25 and the drivers side car seat lever (the one that moves the back of the seat forward and back to allow backseat passengers inside), does not work.

The lever moves up and down but it will not release the mechanism inside to allow the seat to move forward.

We have had a look behind the seat at the wiring and it appears that one part has become unhooked but we cannot work out how and where it has come apart or indeed how to fix it.

Does anyone know how to rectify this problem or know of a diagram that shows the wiring layout?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi Gaynor, The back rest works on a cable, You will find it is not a Quick job but a time consuming one with patience Remove the plactic cover on the handle lever control & follow the cable down to the seat base.
ford had a similar problem with their seats.you usually find there are 2 cables, and 1 of them snaps.easy fix is to cable tie the operating arm up(on the broken side)the working cable should be sufficient to hold the seat in the locked(driving)position.
