i'd really love to be able to help ya...but,i swear that jus went right over my head there!..was that something to do with nuclear psychics...or am i just thick?:)
I could understand it in terms of geographical co-ordinates if that is what is meant...

An absolute location is a fixed point on the earth's surface, whereas a relative location is referenced to some other known point. For instance a survey could be carried out to National Grid Co-ordinates (absolute location) or all measured off a local building (relative location) using local co-ordinates.

Assuming both surveys were done using the same instrumentation, tolerances and checks, then the areas encompassed by the surveys would be identical, they would just have a difference base line.

a *different* base line, not *difference*
This question is addressed in some detail in the TV program 'Location Location Location' starring Phil Spencer and Kirtie Allsopp. I would recommend you try and catch an episode.
