Is there any way round K9 web protection. I have bebo but it is blocked now since my dad got K9. I know it sounds quite devious but I doubt there's anything wrong with bebo - my friends have it (no restrictions unlike me!).
He's over protective about the internet - he's unlikely to be persuaded so please can someone help?

yes there is... not going to say how though, if you figure it out yourself remember that k9 will log what sites your going to so he will still know.
There is nothing wrong with bebo just some of the people who are on there. Your father is probably right to want to be protective about the internet and who you are being contacted by. Talk to him maybe he will be willing to allow you limited access to bebo under the condition that you have parental supervison while you are using it. It would be a good way for him to understand what social networking is all about and for you to show him that you can use the internet in a responsible way.
I disagree slightly with the last poster. This child has put herself at risk twice in this question alone, firstly by adopting a sexually provocative username and secondly by identifying herself as an underage female.
In fact the question author might easliy be a sexual predator seeking to give his victims information that will enable contact to be cotinued with them.
If this is not the case 'loveshy', I am not apologetic, as these are the realities of the risks you are exposed to.
When you can demonstrate that you know how to behave responsibly and safely your parents may relax their restrictions.

O thanks a bunch 'Lil O'lady' a real help! I didnt ask for your opinion on my user name (if you're not, I apologise) and whoever gave you the right to act like a mother?!?

I suppose you are right Phantaxus - I love bebo but there are/can be dodgy people there (Despite me having no problems with these and unaccepting any who do)

Marky, again, I suppose you are right too, it probably best if I ask my dad politely - may work well!
Lil 0'lady, you should call yourself 'Wise 0'lady'. ;-)

Lov3shy, your disrespectful attitude towards Lil 0'lady confirms the manner of immaturity and behaviour you demonstrates to your parents. Your dad don't trust you, and you probably give him all reason to.

Figure - what makes u think u know me - I am not immature - I can speak for myself - that is NOT immaturity! My dad does trust me I have you know - he has the K9 system blocking things that everyone knows are dangerous - pornographic sites but the level up to what things are blocked is not down to him, it's down to the K9 system itself - Social Networking. My mum doesn't see what's so bad with Bebo (There are choices whether to accept or decline a friend request).

I do not demonstrate immaturity - I'm more than capable of protecting myself - are you saying being a wimp (Allowing myself to unwanted, unneeded comments) is mature!!!!!!
It's called 'discussion', dear. Grown-ups do it.
Now show daddy what you've been asking for and see how he takes it.
Plus your username.

Oh really (?) I would have never guessed. Contrary to belief, he didn't care about lov3shy - he won't unblock Bebo however!

I'm not really under the influence of being told to "Tell daddy" either thank you very much
