Did anyone get the ending to 'Under Suspicion' with Gene Hackman and morgan freeman? Please Explain!!

Henry (Gene Hackman) finally gives in and confesses to raping and murdering the young girls. However, during his confession, Victor (Morgan Freeman) is interrupted by a fellow officer telling him that they arrested and got a confession from a man earlier for the murders. Apparently Henry's confession was just one last ditch effort to not let his wife down. http://www.moviepooper.com/

GREAT! Thanks a lot. I still dont think it's a good ending? anyone agree? The film was good apart from the end.
