Is there a way to play the ipod through speakers on a standard hi-fi system or is there a set you can buy. I'd buy the Bose system but I don't have 300 spare!!!

One way, and i'm sure there are others, is to get the FM transmitter attachment and tune it into your radio on your home stereo:

yes, you just need a connecting lead from the ipod headphone socket to the AUX IN sockets on your hi-fi. You can get one from any good hi-fi shop, or there are loads of internet sites that sell cables - I am sure there is an official Apple one, but you can get much cheaper ones that do the same job! I think mine cost about 7.

There's one here, but as I said, I am sure there are cheaper ones available.
