Has anyone got any tips on how to remove spatterings of candlewax from a lace tablecloth?  I have soaked the cloth in boiling water to melt the wax, but appear to have been left with a multicoloured spattered stain!  Have  tried washing the cloth in the normal way to no avail.  HELP PLEASE.....!!!

don't know if it is too late to do this with your tablecloth, but try putting it in a freezer to harden the wax, then you should be able to lift it off and then treat the grease mark separately.

Hi Kaz;

The best way to remove candle wax is to place some brown (parcel) paper over the tablecloth and iron over the paper and the wax will melt, and be absorbed into the brown paper removing it from the tablecloth.

Hope that helps you

Good idea l_h_kings. I did the same a while back but used kitchen roll underneath and on top. Needed quite a bit of work but did get the tablecloth virtually wax free.

Haha see the helpful answers I was given a few months ago here.

blotting paper works the best and I think i heard greaseproof works too
