Hi, I am switching from using Outlook Express to Oulook. In OE 6 if I just type the first letter of a recipients name in the 'To' box, the program suggests a likely recipient from my contact list and fills in the rest for me. Is it possible to get Outlook to do this? I have been trying all afternoon and cant find a way to switch tis function on!

I don't think you can do that but you can type the first few characters then click on the icon which looks like a little head with a tick next to it when composing a new email. It gives a list of possible suggestions or fills the reciepient in if there's only one match.
When you send an email a small file is created in "app data". If you send another email to the same person it will then auto suggest because it has that persons data in the file. I think you'll find that it will all come right when you've been using it a little while and you start duplicating mail recipients
Sorry forgot to add that this is not connected to your address book and there isn't a switch on and off function anywhere, it just does it all by itself
