Up to a few days back my OE mails came in as latest at the top and downwards for earlier mails. Now its all change, they are now listed alphabetical, ie amazon in hundreds and Ss have to scroll down for thousands over a few years. How can I go back as to as they were. TIA

In Outlook Express, click on "View" (it's about third from the left at the top of the screen) and then "Sort by" and you'll see a drop-down menu. Make sure "Received" and "Sort Ascending" are checked. This should take your emails back to the way they were.
You can also click on any of the column headings to sort e-mails.

So click on the "Date" column heading to sort by date, click on the "Subject" column heading to sort by subject etc.
You say you have thousands of emails going back years in your in-basket.

Dd you know that with outlook you can place them in different folders?

So you can create a folder called Amazon and put all your Amazon emails in there, another folder called for example Work and all you work emails in there.

That way the only emails left in your in basket will be those that you are still dealing with, or have just arrived and your in basket will be much smaller.
I must admit I too was surprised when you said you had thousands of emails in your Outlook Express. I regularly transfer all my OE emails to CD so that there's only ever approximately 50 emails in my Inbox at any given time.

Plus I do have sub-folders which I've named "Friends n Family", "Items of Interest", "eBay Stuff" and so on. Again I try to restrict the emails in each to 10 - 20. It saves having to trawl through hundreds of emails. If it's more than a month old, chances are it'll be on a data disc, which I simply need to reload onto my computer should I need to access it again.
