I'm fine with mine but a friend of mine had one fitted and developed migraines. It won't suit everyone, if its getting you down best take it out and try something else. Thought about the injection?
How long have you had it? The coil can take up to a year to settle then after it is usually great.
I have had mine in for four years and havent had much problems with it until lately when I have started having periods every month. So it might be time to have it taken out. I only had mine for heavy and painful periods and not for birth control.

Speak to your GP or Gynae (I had mine done privately but my GP let me have it on Script so I only had to pay the Gynae 150.00 but got a great service)

Take Care.

Why did you go privately? You can get them done at your GP surgery or local hospital for free.
Sorry to hear you've had bad side effects. Like toby I'd ask HOW LONG you've had it?

I've had mine since October (for endometriosis). I had bad cramps, almost constant bleeding etc for the first three months but now things have settled down alot.

My Gynae advised me tos tick it out for AT LEAST six months, (and like toby says i was told it can take up to a year to settle down)

Good luck
i have the same problem, i AM also considering hving it taken out, my health has never been so bad, i need somthing with less or no negative effects. good luck to both of us then.
hi yes i have had bad side affects with it i have had it in since 2005 iv gained weight i have had bad migraines i have bled alot with stomac cramps and i went a few weeks to get it took out and they said its gone up as they carnt find the threads so now i have to go into hospital
I had mine fitted end of Jan this year. I have bled constantly, but my consultant said this was a possibility. What he didn't tell me was I may gain weight, which I have, my breasts are swollen and pretty painful most of the time. I have gone from a fit, 9 stone 39 year old to an unfit 10 stone heffer who now feels about 79! I am busting out of my clothes and by boobs enter the room before I do, joking apart, I wish I had never had it fitted. I was not warned of any of the side effects. I will give it another 3 months.
