When I applied to the job i'm doing now I told my employer I could do short hand. I can't and live in fear that she asks me to join them in a meeting one day.

Yes I told them I was a real doctor, so I now work in surgery....only kidding!

Ive never lied to get a job
Yes, in the sense of what I used to do in my last job!!

But nothing like this!! Let's hope that meeting never happens!!!!
Im sure iread somewhere that 75 % of folk lie on appplication forms either about experience or qualifications.
They dont see it as lying but more as sweeetening their cv.

Well they're going to expect you to do it at some point, otherwise it wouldn't have been a requirement - what you going to do when they ask you to do it?
Imagine being told there's a meeting & you're to take short hand - you can't get out of it......... better to come clean then be put on the spot & co*k everything up! It could be an important meeting therefore important notes!
sorry but you've got to take it seriously.
Quite a difficult thing to learn as well. It took me nearly 2 years to learn Pitman shorthand and to be able to get up to 100 words per minute. Other forms of shorhand like teeline you cannot get as fast at speed. You could always say you are very rusty, as if you dont use it regularly, you do lose your speed..!! Always a thought.
