I thought 22d was Green (land of the living), but couldn't work out what 27ac could be if that were the case. I see on here the answers are believed to be 'Glebe' and 'Entrance Fee' respectively, but don't understand why 'Glebe' should be land of the living - I thought it was just a field. I think 'green' fits much better, but can't think of anything that would fit with the 'n' for 27ac. Also, why is 1ac 'Catchphrase'? Arrest, fine, but where does 'name of the law' fit?

1ac - I arrest you in the name of the law (11)
22d - Land of the living
27ac - Transport Charge? (8,3)

1ac _ Phrase uttered when somebody is arrested/ caught by a policeman ( i.e. in the name of the law ) so catchphrase.
22d glebe = land attached to a parish church.
27ac entrance fee. Double meaning of entrance.

Yes I get them all, I just think they're weak clues. And I still don't see why a field attached to a church should be 'land of the living'.

Thanks, though.
A parish is known as a living.
Question Author
Well, I never knew that. Couldn't find it in my dictionary either. Makes much more sense now. Thanks. Novalis.
