I still get a little spam coming through on one of my AOL screen names, usually about my 'online bank account' which I don't even have, so I forward this to AOL sites: cosfiles, cosmail1 and cosmail2. However! The spam keeps coming, does AOL actually do anything about it, and are there any other email addresses I can send spam to, to get rid of it forever ?? AOL are absolutely useless, not even worth contacting them. They just send me a standard email which means nothing.

Sorry to say but you have pretty much no chance of getting rid of all spam forever. AOL may block the address that the mail is coming from but if you where to check the emails I'd be willing to bet that no two come from the same address.

What spammers do is as they have a list of say 1million email addresses to send spam mail to this will also mean they have 1 million adresses they can make it look like the email has come from and they change the from address each time they send a batch out (or they just use totally fake addresses in the from field)

AOL already have one of the strictest spam filters around (too strict at times a lot would say) so affraid you will probably have to putup with the few that do make it through.
I get no spam at all on my personal email addresses - because they are not proper words but a mix of letters and numbers.

My ancient car and bike registration numbers.

Spammers use names and hope to hit a proper email address.
Also don't forward these things on otherwise you will be turning into a spammer yourself. There's little you can do about it apart from not publishing your email address.

Just hit the delete button.
