Hi - as above, I think the a/c on our Xsara Picasso has gone beely-up. Not only is it not cold, the engine does not 'rev up' when the a/c is turned on. We have not been putting it on every week to 'maintain the seals'. Anyone out there any sugestions as to what it could be and how expensive to fix?

sounds like your a/c pump has gone, depending on car, could be expensive, but find out first whats wrong, then get some quotes.

Thanks Norm, very quick! Will get to it eventually, it's getting warmer now so will be pushed into action - Ps that should be 'belly-up'!
Could just be the safety feature that does not let the compressor switch on due to low pressure in the system if your seals have gone with not using it properly.
I have a Peugeot 206 ( semi related car) and the compressor would not even try if it detected low/no gas. gas is the best place to start.
