I bought a jar of tahini a while ago and am now trying to buy more however I can't remember where I bought it
:o(
I was sure I had got it in Tesco although they are sure that they never stocked it!! When I googled it I followed a yahoo discussion forum which says that Sainsburys sell it however and I can't get onto the Sainsburys site at the minute to check. Anyone know if they do it for sure?
Thanks

I purchase Tahini regularly from Tesco as i love making home made Houmous.
I get mine in Sainsburys. It is in the section that has the not so common stuff, like Truffel oil, smoked paprika, artichoke hearts, etc. If you can find that section you should find it there.
Tesco are hopeless at finding whether stuff is in stock. I wanted Orange flower water for a recipe. My workmate found it in Tesco but they assured me they never sold it. Incidentally, if you are talking about going onto the shopping site to check whether they stock....they have limited stock ranges on that.

tyrepill - is it fresh tahini that you buy (ie from the dips section) or does it come in a jar?
warpig - thanks for the directions! I'll get it in sainsburys.
bimbo - I tried on-line and I also asked in-store. Ah well - looks like sainsburys will be getting my business this time.
I've never seen *fresh* tahini anywhere - only stuff like hummus. dips and bean pats etc in the dips department in the supermarket. I've only ever seen it available in jars (like warpig says, in the not-so-common department). I usually get mine in my wholefood shop though (and the health food shops usually sell it as well, at a premium !).

I always get mine in local health/wholefood shops also......including Holland and Barrett......and I am pretty sure it is cheaper than in the supermarkets (at least Sainsbury's )
