What is the best free online antivirus software?? A few people have mentioned AVG but I cant seem to find the free download. Every time I click to download it shows me the latest packages and asks for my card details. Does anyone have a link for free AVG download or a link to any better software.

Thanx in advance

hi
you can get a free trial of spyware doctor if this is any use? its 30 days trail and then its about 20 something for a year.
hope this helps
keith!
No point in spending 20 when you can get AVG for free.
My computer is fairly old so I visit http://www.antivirus.com and get a free check every week or so.
AVG is good value but it isn't brilliant. I also remember coming across a site that was clearly trying to attract traffic meant for AVG.

If you want the best then get NOD32 but it will cost you.

DO NOT get Norton under any circumstances.
my panda anti virus and firewall are soon coming up for renewal as i have had this computer for 12 months now so would these free downloads be o k , i am not very good with all this technology .thanks for any advice.
There's nothing wrong with AVG but if you want alternatives there is
Avast- http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.h tml

or
Avira AntiVir- http://www.free-av.com/
Just put avg into googleand this will come up

beso is right ... AVG is good value ... but at that price so is a brick (which is probably a better solution)

follow mac's advice ... avira gets my vote
Yep you can't fault Avira, I put it on the pcs I build, also have a look at www.comodo.com there are links for the free firewall, anti virus etc.
