The electricians have taken my old one away and replaced it with this new one that is SO painfully noisy. I don't know what to do! There is no way anyone could have a bath with that racket! My bathroom is big and victorian and tiled with very high ceiling, so it probably echoes more than in some bathrooms, but even so, the noise is ungodly. I told the electrician who said it was no louder than normal ones.
Any idea what I can do or where I stand?!

Yeah get him back and ask him to bring another new one with him so he can swap it while your there and see if the one he brings is just as noisy, whatever you do don't let him take it away and swap it as I guess he will bring the old one back and say it's new.....
also check the fan blade isn't touching the vent pipe above it. that makes a racket. mine had a bit of the flexy pipe hang down and touch the blades.
