And not to be insulting, but the fact she is alive and well is even worse. My girlfriend is 23 years old, has had breast cancer, dealt with her father's suicide at 13 and still manages to outshine most single professionals with no responsibilities. Your daughter can do this, and more. She just needs to get it into her head that being a single mother is not the journey of Oddyseus.

Thank you Rtaxron thats very helpful, at least there are sane people out there that give good advice.
The Citizens Advice Bureau used to be able to give the advice you need, give them a ring.

Good Luck to you and your daughter in the future.

Thank you sandbach will also give them a ring too i think. x
The 25% discount on Council Tax is something which applies to households containing only 1 adult. Her council tax bill should show this discount. If she gets full council tax benefit, then it is the full amount that she is billed for that the benefit pays. Even if she wasn't entitled to any council tax benefit, she would still get the 25% discount, so it is important her bill shows it in case - at some time in the future - her income increases so that she is not entitled to full benefit.

whats the matter with you lot .you said its hard being ayoung mum its hard being any mum what ever age .but the simple answer is if your daughter wanted to work 40 hours aweek she could becouse the child care cost is ther for her for freeeeee end of story.

crunshiepunc whats the sence in having children if your going to go out to work and never see them, pointless,, now working part time is different, you need to bring in a certain amount of wages to support yourself and family but you also need to spend that precious time with your little ones, and thats what shes trying to achieve.
tamirra i understand were your coming from and we all would love to do just that .but if your daughter worked 16 hours a week or 40 hours a week it would not mean she loved her child any less and her child would always love its mum. and the bond is always stronger (( proven )) between parent and child when having structure.
