May retire gracefully from R&S?

(Notice that, like a good boy, I obeyed the rules by making it a question.)
I reckon to call that last question of mine (about creationists) my swan-song on the R&S site. Though this is of monumental unimportance to anyone, I might as well give a few words of explanation.
I have had two years or more of interesting - well, sometimes interesting - debate and discussion about that curious business of religious belief. Some of it has been fun but I have learnt little that I didn't know before and I doubt whether I have contributed much.
In the last few weeks I have asked three basic questions:
How would you prove the existence of Jesus?
What evidence is there for God?
Why don't creationists explain creation?
I won't pretend to be surprised that the questions produced little in the way of robust answers: I know full well that there is no historical basis for the Jesus story, that there is no evidence for God, and that creationists cannot even begin to give us any detail about the procedure.
So was it, as some have unworthily suggested, just a bit of religionist baiting? Certainly not. I deemed it only fair to give believers a free platform on which to shine and show me where I was going wrong. Very generous of me, I would have thought.

I truly wasn�t going to post on here again but it would be churlish to ignore the above messages and the friendliness that most of them exude.
Thank you, folks, but I really have nothing more to contribute to any discussion of religion, nor can I learn any more about it than I know already. And there are far more important and interesting subjects in this life, topics which I hope to pursue on other sites.
For example, Theland and I are united (would you believe?) on the S&C site in scoffing at post-modernism. Though from my point of view it�s a case of going from one sort of looniness in R&S to another sort in S&C, I doubt whether Theland sees it that way.
I�m quite sure I�ll re-meet most of you, sooner or later, on sites like Science, Arts & Literature, History, Law, Phrases & Sayings, etc. I look forward to it.
(Oh, naomi, I�ve done 86 and am stuck. So I�m putting it to one side for a while so as to stop my brain from going round in the same old circles.)

Chakka, Thanks for letting us know you took the time to glance over your shoulder to see a few of the many friends you�ve chosen to leave behind. Although I appreciate and duly respect you�re quite valid reasons for seeking greener pastures, you�ve burned no bridges in your departure and I will never relinquish the hope that you will, if only occasionally, return here to refill the void in our world you�ve created in your wake. In the between times I wish you the best and will rest assured that you�ll leave no stone unturned in the heroic pursuit of truth and that you will continue to uphold the virtues of reason where ever you go.

Yes, that's true. I've thought it for a while - and frankly it often irritates me when someone throws a good debate off course by making jokes, or by making personal remarks. Having said that, each and every one of us is guilty of being a little too flippant on occasions. Maybe it's because people feel the need to lighten it up what can often be a heavy subject. I don't know. It's just a thought, but I would like to see it revert to more serious debate, as it once was, and without the vitriolic and personal attacks we see so often now. I'm going to post a question to ask whether others feel the same way. I'll await the outcome with interest.
