Lack of digibox channels

About 4 years ago I purchased a digibox (99.99 then), installed it and appeared to work fine in the S. Wales area. However, when I moved it to the East Midlands area and re-installed, re-tuned etc. it only receives the main 5 channels plus ITV2, More4,E4, BBC3, one of the music channels and a few ads channels. It used to receive ITV3 a few months ago but not any more.
There's no Film4, ITV4, BBC4, no plus 1 hour channels, virgin, sky, Dave, etc.etc.
I removed the digibox and re-installed in a known excellent reception area with the same results.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have you checked your postcode her to see if digital reception is possible? Have your neighbours got good Freeview reception?

Have you tried a re-scan in the new good reception location(BTW is this location excellent digital reception?) .

Thanks for your reply pug. Yes I put the receiver in my works rest area where the existing set works absolutely fine. This is only 6 miles up the road from where I live!
O.K. You could try to download the latest software for your dtv box. Try here, sorry can't be more specific without knowing which digibox you have.

Otherwise it could be then that the box is on it's way out. New ones start at around 20 these days.
Aerial, almost certainly.
I had the same problem but a new aerial cured all. I have now chucked out Sky and save loads of money!

Thanks both for your replies. It can't be the aerial as I eliminated this by taking it to work where the other one works fine.
The set is a Phillips DTR 1500. What do you mean pug by downloading. How can that help for a freestanding digital receiver or am I being dumb?
It's just a long shot but sometimes the software inside these things (as in computers) just gets upset and fails to work properly. If the box has a factory reset I'd try this first followed by a re-scan. If it's still no go I'd check to see if there were any software upgrades to download, follow the dtg link I posted.
You could also try Digital Spy forums and see what's on there. This is a link to Phillips dtr 1500 search

One other thing I've thought of is to check the signal strength meter. Any channel below 40% will show blockiness and below 30% you'll get no signal.
The few channels I have probs with are film4 (usually during a good film too ) the two music channels TMF and The Hits ( not bothered about these) and sometimes FiveUS

Thanks very much for your help pug.
I finally resolved the problem by trying your first suggestion ie restoring the box to the factory settings and re-scanning. All the channels have now appeared in the proper locations and reception fine. I can now reminisce in my tender years with the help of ITV4 etc!
Once again, thanks for the help.
