We went to our lawyers yesterday, my fiance is going for joint custody of his son. The lawyer told us that even if we get a court order saying that his ex has to let him see his son more she can break it and nothing will be done. Surely this can't be right. What's the point in paying lawyers and court fees for nothing?

unfortunatly this happen to my husband he was granted parental responsibility for his daughter, but given supervised access as she claimed him to be violent..she came to one visit then vanished changed the childs name and broke a court order, nothing was done about this..so it seems fathers have no rights, and mothers can break the law..we now have 5 children and never a violent day.!!,keep pushing dont give up to many mothers break court orders and nothing gets done.......good luck to u both

Thanks. I can't believe in this day and age, women are still seen as better parents over men in all cases. This may be true in the majority of cases but courts need to look at each case and its individual issues. My fiances' health is really suffering because of this and she's sitting up there with her new husband- who has previously been charged with manslaughter- laughing her little head off.
if her new husband has been charged with manslaughter then maybe the courts need to look at the safety issue of him living there...tell yr partner to keep his chin up and never give up..i know its hard to watch him go through it but if yr strong then so will he...i really wish u all the best....
