Every year by this time, my pond is usually throbbing to the tune of happy frogs. This year, I have't had a solitary frog, and therefore no frog spawn. Friends who have ponds have all been visited. Have I been sent to Coventry for some reason?

I dont know what you've done wrong, I've relocated buckets of the stuff to local lakes and ponds
I don't have a pond ( there's one two houses down) but usually have lots of frogs about. I was beginning to wonder where they were and about an hour ago I moved a plantpot & found the first one this year! Maybe they're just late as it's been such a mixed bag weatherwise.
They`re about alright, my wife sceamed the house down when she was confronted by one on the mat leading to the garden......laugh,...... I nearly died.
I haven't had any in my pond yet either, so you're not alone Bluebell.
Please dont move your frogspawn to other lakes and ponds!!!!!!!!!!!!! http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7282649.stm

Hey Christine, nice to hear from you. I'm just South of Lincoln. It's interesting that Jules hasn't had any either. I was beginning to think I was being ostracised as neighbours with ponds have been 'spawned.' I wonder why this has happened this year?
Hi Bluebell, I have been told there is a disease about which is killing frogs and toads, its called frog fungus.
My neighbour 3 doors away has apond and her frogs have returned,i dont understand it at all.
Please let me know if yours eventually appear

Hello again Chrissy, nice to hear from you. I've definitely been given the frog cold shoulder this year, still no sign. Having said that, I did hear a solitary croaking two nights ago, but as neighbours have now got the makings of tadpole in their spawn, this guy really has missed his happy moment.. Hope you have a great Easter, and you miss the predicted snow.
PS. We're having Toad in the Hole for dinner tonight. Revenge is sweet!!!! Bluebell
sorry - checked my pond today and I'VE GOT FROG SPAWN!!!!!!
Hi Bluebell, had a very cold and snowy easter but lets hope for the best now its supposed to be spring!
Still no sign of froggies though, very dissapointing.
Hope youve had some luck by now

Well done Jules, I'm pleased that you've been 'Found!' The same can't be said for me, or Christine either. We've definitely been given the heave ho this year. The first year we made the pond, we had loads of frogs visit, but they have been declining to do so every year since. Last year we only saw 5, but this year, a big fat zero. I suppose the only good thing about it is that we won't have to do a recce every time we mow the grass this year. I hope you had a lovely Easter Chrissy. The Easter Bunny didn't leave me any eggs. No frogs, no eggs..... I'm in a grump!!
Hi Bluebell,
I ventured down to the pond this afternoon and found that i have a large amount of
frogspawn!
I have still nor seen or heard any frogs so where they are is a mystery.
Keep checking and let me know the result.

Hi Chrissy! Thats great news. How sad am I congratulating you on getting frogspawn!!!! Sadly, I haven't found any in the pond. I'm getting quite a complex, not only have I got no frogspawn, but not one bluetit has taking up residence in any of the three nesting boxes we have up. They clamber onto the nut feeders, but are obviously setting up homes somewhere else. I shall have to be called Billy No Mates at this rate! I shall really miss our little chats here now you've been 'Frogspawned!' xx
Hi Bluebell, weathers not getting much better is it?
I have seen bluetits fluttering about gathering twigs ect. but do not seem to be nesting in any of my boxes either
Hopefully nice weekend and we can all get out and do some tidying up in the garden ,mine certanly needs it!
Chrissy xx
