Not sure where to post this...!

Does anyone receive one of these door-to-door local ad mags, usually A5 in colour or b&w, just advertising local trades & businesses, usually monthly or fortnightly, with no or minimal editorial.

If so, do you know the name of the publication, which area is it distributed in and an email/web address for contact?

I'm trying to help my employer get some more business (it's a small print & design firm), before he has no choice but to make redundancies - so not interested in advertising in areas already targeted, just need to gauge prices, target markets and so on.

Hi Mully79, we have just started advertising in one of these type of mags and the only way we found the number is by actually getting hold of one which had been put through the door of a friend who lived in the area. If this is not possible for you to get hold of one this way, I would suggest asking some local shops who may advertise in the mag. Even if they don't advertise, I would imagine they should have received one as the distributor will hope that they will look through it and be interested enough to go in it. If you manage to get hold of one of these, I would suggest putting in a good customer offer with a voucher, is the best way to drum up trade, rather than just advertising the fact that the business exists. Also if you put in a voucher type offer, you can gauge the success of the advert by the number of voucher redemptions you may or may not get.
Best of luck.
I wouldn't bother. The best way you can generate plenty of business is by having a decent content rich website, and utilize a good SEO practice and link building campaign.

You can also purchase Promotional Products fairly cheap, depending who and what you are targeting. These are generally used as a promotional tool or an incentive to clients or staff. Also, if you are a printing firm, then are you printing lots of promotional material and getting it out there?
