I've been working in the City for nearly a year now, although it's very tiring, I'm used to commuting from Buckinghamshire as I have been doing it for the last 10 years, the problem I have is this. The job is well paid and I like the people I work with but it's not terribly rewarding. On the other side of the coin I like living in the country but my house is too small and I'm not keen on the village. I don't want to move back to London and I can't afford to work where I live as the salaries are too poor. I've already thought about leaving the country but that's not an option tiill my son has left school. Any bright ideas anyone?

Why is it one thing or the other? Why not look for another job in the city that you will find more rewarding while probably maintaining your salary and look for another, larger home, in a different village?

1. Money is an object
2. My brain isn't tough enough to cope with moving house and changing jobs at the same time.

I'll have to do a 5yr plan or something - Thanks
Why not tackle the job first - you never know, you may find one that pays more and it would be less of an upheaval to change jobs than move home. If you did achieve an increase in salary, that would help in moving as and when you felt ready to take that on. I think you would feel good knowing that you were being pro-active. Anyway, good luck whatever you decide.
