First thing is to go to the docs and explain your anxiety etc... to him/her - they will not judge you or think you are being silly, they are there to help you.  Has anything big/traumatic happened to you lately - do you feel anything has triggered this obsessive behaviour???

The

Next thing is (easy to say I know) to take it easy, try not to worry about it to much - because the more you worry the more you will convince yourself that something is wrong and it will make you worse.   Next talk to said friend explain that you are having a few troules, apologise for your erratic behaviour and just let them know you are going through a rough patch.    But the main thing is to see someone and tell them exactly what is going on and don't let them fob you off. If they offer you a service that you are unhappy with don't accept it either tell them you are unhappy or see someone else.  I hope this helps, I don't think you are losing it I just think you need to find yourself again.  Hope you feel better soon and that someone helps you out. xx
Just a suggestion and forgive me if I am way off the mark, (presuming you are female) coiuld it be that you have deeper feelings for your male best friend than you think?
sorry for mispelling could!

Firstly relax. Do some deep breathing and when you have cleared your mind of thoughts, ask yourself some questions about your feelings for this guy. Perhaps you have some bottled up feelings and emotions for him that you can't release, and they have to come out some how, so you focus all your energy on trying to contact him. Then when he doesn't return your calls or texts, you think you've upset him which drives you mad because you need to know. The only way for you to know is to then try again to contact him! A visious circle. I get the feeling that you feel out of control and you need to regain some sense of control. You are in control if you allow yourself to be and try not to let your friend's actions or lack of actions, control you. Whatever you choose to do, you need to talk to someone about how your feeling to make sense of all this and to make these feelings and thoughts seem less powerful.

I think you are in love with him
LOVE: it's a special kind of stupid!
