You will get time to pay, The magistrates will probably make a collection order, you go and see the fines officer, make arrangements to pay weekly or monthly according to your means. However, if you fail to pay as directed you will be brought before the court and they can order that the fine be paid in full. If you fail to pay they can send you to prison, and before others say they wont believe me they can and will.
yea you could be an example sometimes they do that . my hubby got caught for speeding and they fined him 325 quid wiv 5 points but we admitted to it and dealt with it out of court but we made sure we worked out that each month we only had about 20 quid of of wages left so thats all we cud give them and they accepted it just lay it on thick
take an incomings and outgoings printout with you
The magistrate will ask you how you wish to pay - tell them in installments
I know this is probably the wrong place to say, but i just cant help myself:

This is where Britain is going wrong.

Playing the justice system to one's own favour......driving without due care and attention - whatever way you look at it - should be punished so that the person committing the crime is actually punished, and not just losing a few quid here and there!

What If this lack of care and attention caused an accident?
Would this person still be on here trying to wrangle any payouts so that it wont really affect him/her each month??

As the old saying goes - if you cant do the time, dont do the crime.

Personally, i think that if you do commit a crime, you should be punished accordingly and NO exceptions made for plea bargains, etc!

u make me sound like a criminal mr bounty and i dont apretiate that!!!! i have had an accident r u an angel???
Actually, my mother has always said im an angel!

Apologies for making you sound worse than you are - that was not my intention - the whole thing about the British justice system really hits a raw nerve.

I despise that near innocent people (those who have done minor "crimes") are hit harder than those who have committed crimes such as muggings / theft / rape / murder / etc / etc.

I think i may have got a bit carried away, but all i was trying to say that, no matter the crime, the punishment should be fitting.....and in that, i also mean that leniancy in repayments shouldn't be as forthcoming as what it is.....
