Anyone know the best way to send heavy items abroad? I have a 5kg package that needs to go by air to Asia. Thanks.

Look in your Yellow Pages under 'Freight Forwarders' and ring round for quotes.

My wife originates from Canada and sends things to her grandchildren there. There are different postal rates, small packet, parcel, letter, etc. We found it cheaper if it is a package (several items) to split the items so they are no more than 2kg each. Check with the local post office as different countries have differnt weight limits.

Try tuffnells couriers, we use them for China for 10-41 Kg parcels and are quite cheap. www.tuffnells.co.uk .
