I've just inserted a memory card in my samsung phone. I put some music on it from windows media player but can't transfer it to my phones music player. Anyone else had this problem and how did you get round it. Thanks

Windows media Player uses a certain type of file which your phone may not recognise. You should ensure that the file type is a MP3 file rather than a WMA file in order for it to work. If you go to the Options > Rip Music tab you should see the format that is being used when ripping music from a disc. Change this to MP3 and everything should work from there on. Any music already in your music library will need to be converted to MP3 and there are many apps that will do this for you. I use Cheetah

Have been messing around for ages and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't play, you're right my files are WMA. You are a *
the converter also enables you to change to bitrate as well so if you want to cram in as many songs as possible you can lower this figure. I have a 2gb card on my Sony Ericcson and using a compression ratio of 32, I can get over a 1000 songs on my phone with little depreciation in audible quality.
