Stuck on one, it's probably staring me in the face, but I'm not too certain!!

11a White hot: the outside say, is molten (4)

A?H? possibly ashy, but I can't fully justify!

Ashy W for white + outside of say = sy with h for hot in middle of sy. Hope this makes sense!
Sorry, it's been a long day! Think it means h for hot in anagram of say!
I wouldn't quite agree with slipnot.

Ashy is white. Say is 'molten outside H (hot)
Kayakamina's right, as I say it's been a long day.

Thanks very much to you both, I should also have seen that. Some of the answers on this puzzle are a bit loose, and by the time I get to the end of it, a little help is often needed!!
