Can anyone recommend a good family pub for a lunch on Saturday in the Exmouth/Exeter area?

Yes! Try the Double Locks at Exeter. It is slightly out of the City but can be walked or driven to. It is located next to the ship canal and is a slightly quirky but unique pub serving a variety of food and good beers.. Any local will give you directions.
