do you think it's possible for a house to be cursed with bad luck?
ever since i bought my present pile eight years ago things seem to have been going wrong! right from day one i've hated the place,it just never felt right. i have since found out that all the previous tennants have had even worse luck than me,which makes me feel slightly justified in my recent decision to sell to a property developer who is going to bulldoze the place and build some nice apartments for the elderly.

I completely beleive that places can be cursed!! However plases including houses can have the energy cleansed. I dont know what your beleifs are but you could get a priest or vicar in to bless the house!! It is simular to the pagan cleansing of a house however if there is anything in the house (like a spirit) then cleansing by the ordained may not work because it may contradict with the beleifs of that spirit.
I would reckomend that you read up on cleasing the athmosphere yourself through pagan teachings. Its simple to do and very effective (this all sounds far out i know but i have read about the catholic cleansing ritual and paganism for years). Maybe you could get a spiritualist or pagan in to do it for you!! It wouldnt cost much it they charge at all.
There is no harm in trying it, if it doesnt work then you can always say youve tried and with nothing lost!!!
your lucky its only your house ! all the village where i live has a curse on it .something to do about a witch ..
Sleepyj would you mind telling me which village you live in??? Im really interested and research specifically on witch tales. I understand perfectly if you dont want to say!!

many thanks x
gonzo00 I am completely in agreement with you, I once lived in a house that was haunted. Most people laugh at me when I tell them about it, but...but...but...it was a very stressful experience.
Like DNA that stays where it's put, houses can hold energies, so I don't find it at all surprising that some feel "jinxed", or haunted, but as taliesin said, you can get rid of bad feelings, or reverse what appears to be bad luck.
Our house is wonderfully haunted - but it doesn't bother me. After a while you just get used to it, although not everyone sees it like that!! x
I dont know about cursed with bad luck but I do know you can take an instant dislike before you have even unpacked.I bought last May and within 2 days I knew I would never be happy here. I gave myself a couple of months then up it went for sale.I priced it lower than I had paid for it to get away quick, should have moved out 3 months ago but I was in chain which broke.I am still here and surrounded by packing cases.I feel I have wasted a whole year of my life so dont know how you stuck it out for all those years. You have finally made the right decision.Good luck for future property.

Jane Wenham (d. 1730) was the subject of what is commonly but erroneously regarded as the last witch trial in England
Ice Maiden I love your wording 'wonderfully haunted' thats a great way to put it!! My old house was wonderfully haunted.
