ps3 game advice-help!!

Hi all, I'm buying Mr Schlomo a ps3 for xmas but am also wanting to get a good shoot em up game for it-think house of the dead3-any suggestions on a game like that for the PS3? I would prefer to use a gun on it too...not that i have violent tendencies or anything (cof)
Any advice would be gratefully received as we previously had an xbox and had some 'quality' time together shooting stuff

If I were in your position, I would look into getting Resistance:Fall of man, It is an incredible game and it just draws you, once you start you will not want to put the controller down!!!!

resistance FOM. is a bit old now...i think you should go more towards call of cuty 4..especaily if u have online..warhawk is also a great laugh with m8s...rainbow six vegas is not too bad ..but not as good as people say...then finally there ghost recon advansed warfight 2 (GRAW2) that is is very good graphics and is exellent with multiplayer...hope i help..

Go for COD 4, it is the best shooter game available across all sysytems at present.
