Stannic (good clue!)
Can't spell, either!

Thanks all. Had thought of stannic (to do with tin) but can't see where "apt" comes in ( nor can Mr Chambers!)
Hi gardenknowin ... stannic is anagram of tin-cans and is also an adjective indicating a substance contains tin.

Hi sarumite - and thanks - it suddenly clicked. I was looking at "apt" on its own, whereas "apt arrangement" would have been more sensible. Well, shall sacrifice another stamp.....mind you, did win a book token a few weeks ago...... gk
