Does anyone know of a shampoo that can get rid of build-up on the hair due to the use of hairsprays, etc ?

I just use Boot's own, it works ok
Tesco's tea tree shampoo is good for that, and its mega cheap!
Gliss make one especially for build/up.Boots and superdrug stock it.
You need a clarifying shampoo. In the last series of 'how to look good naked' they did blind product testing and pantene pro V clarifying shampoo came out tops.

Thanks to Tickletrout, Weeal, Garner and Rosieapple for your helpful answers. I will certainly give them a try.
nuetragina do a hair cleanser to strip of all conditioners. but i find if you change shampoos once aweek your hair always comes out nicer... and do two washes so the shampoo realy foams up. seems then the hair is cleansed.
i use umberto gianini shampoo and conditioner from boots, they do about 8 differnt types depending on your hair type, and one of them is a clarifying variety. I have curly hair that i often straighten so use a lot of products and using this once a week keeps my hair in tip top condition, i'd definitely recommend it
