Stuck on a few clues for this crossword published on 9 October:

GO-W-N Clue: Nike? - had some by Norman arrow cleft
A-I-N- Clue: For Celia, tale within and tales without
B-S- and B-A-  Two clues but don't know which fits which: Are placed where cops are placed: some do about.....
Second clue: ....a plant or plants proclaiming wine, it's said.

Any help is appreciated.  Thanks.

Godwin.
ALIENA - Rosalind, Celia and Touchstone go in search of the former's father disguised as Gannymede and Aliena.  Where the tale and tales, with or without come from I haven't a clue and I'm not reading the whole of "AS YOU LIKE IT" to find out!  Sorry,  DK

Are placed where cops are placed, some do about - BEAT......a plant or plants proclaiming wine its said - BUSH   (hence beat about the bush).

ALIENA is LIE inside ANA (a collection of anecdotes)

Many thanks for these answers.  They all make sense now, but sometimes you just can stare at a clue until you're blue in the face and the answer just won't come.
