(Again another post has made me think of this....)

have you had the priviledge of being at the receiving end of random acts of kindness recently?

Have you gone out of your way to be kind to someone else?

Whether giving or receiving kindness can put such a happy glow in a persons sould I wonder why we don't practice this more often?

I work on an orthopaedic trauma ward, and we had a biker in after an accident, the first night a load of his leathered and tatooed mates turned up, one of them approached the nursing station and asked if it was OK if they brought their friend some fish and chips in, we said that was fine, but not only did they bring him the fish and chips, they treated the other 5, over 70 years old male patients, to a fish supper too. Many of the old gents didn't have any visitors and the bikers would sit and chat with them all. This went on for several weeks until the biker was discharged. They were a great bunch of lads and said that they hoped someone would do the same for their Grandads.
Absolutely judy! I once broke down on the slip road into a motorway services, and a gang of Hell's Angels pulled up. Not only did they fix my car, but one of them fetched me a cup of coffee while I was waiting. I was really nervous at first, and wrongly thought they might drive off with the car, but they were fine, and wouldn't even accept anything for their trouble.
a couple of winters ago my boyfriend was working (he's a carpenter) at a house in Wales on top of a hill.

it was really icy and it was almost impossible to drive up the hill safely. lots of people were just abondoning their cars at the side of the road.

a mum with her two little kiddies almost crashed their cars along with an old man in his car.

so as my boyfriend is a great driver he offered to drive the mum and her kids up the hill.

he found out that the old man was only going to the shop to get milk and only lived a couple of streets away so my boyfriend drove him back home then went and fetched him milk from the shop.

my boyfriend probably looked rough in his work clothes but it just goes to show...never judge a book by its cover!
