You have to wonder whether the people who go off on one and start ranting about about completely innocent comments are actually a bit unstable. I wonder if they loose their temper so easily in their every day lives.

There is a lot of history here angel, people hold vendettas for a long time
I'd say most do it to provoke a reaction. It's probably that they are missing something from life.
Sometimes people can be just plain mean and forget that there is a person at the end of pixels who's feelings can be hurt.

Yeah there are pixels I dislike too but common courtesy and tolerence is something I try to adopt in everyday life and I see no reason to not do the same on here. I think that's sometimes taken as niavity (very bad sp) but I'd rather be that than unkind. It's very easy to be brave when you don't have to face the consequences of your actions in my experience.

Yes Caz, I've been on this site occasionally for the last couple of years and recognise some of the names still. I suppose it's a lot easier have a 'cyber' go at someone!
I enjoy a healthy debate but would never be so mean as some folks are on here. As China said I treat people on here as I would in everyday life, unfortunately some use the anonymity on here to be rude and offensive.
I think some abers have left the site due to the sqabbling etc, I just try to keep out of it but it has made me take a back-seat some nights

You would not have to develop a thick hide Diz if people thought more about what they said. Also I don't think some would talk the way they do on here or anywhere else on the net in their everyday life unless they wanted to go round sporting eternal black eyes.

LOL china doll!

Yes Diz, there are lots of bar-stewards out there! (i love that name, makes me laugh!)
At one time it came out that two of the biggest enemies on here were both the same person, with two identities that they had mock battles with.

I never found out who they were, but apparently it was obvious one day because the peretrator accidentally used the wrong identity for an answer.

I have once seen someone apologise for a spelling mistake in a different identity than the one making the mistake, and that was a regular who is still on here.
i agree with panic some are answering themselves , and dont know who they supposed to be , right wierd and like you said still on here , lurking in the background
I have taken myself out for a few weeks just cos of nastinesss in the main.(Well that and other vile stuff)
First night back I am attacked -i'm not bothered in the slightest -so it becomes a vacuous post but it makes you wonder about the mentality of the rousers?

Prob have to take myself out again cos I daresay that 'they' wil pounce when they see me here again-its a waste of space -truly -until they hit my achilles heel -grrrrrrrrr !!!

Worst thing is -its someone I know -now that is sad/sick -dress it however.

BTW -in answer to your Q -yip I have a temper in real life -not often but when i blow i blow -howevver it takes a lot for me to lose it in the real world and on here.

I personally think the tubes who have a go on here for NO reason are sad pathertic anoraks in the real world and they get their kicks being abusive one here.

Weell whatever floats yer boat (and fills yer socks lol)

Yes Panic, I think I remember that. Someone pretending to be a lesbian if I remember correctly.....
people act very differently when they feel they are released from some social norms - its the same for many when they are driving their cars, for example if two people walk through a narrow doorway and come face to face they will typically both smile and say sorry excuse me etc, come face to face in their cars on a narrow road those same two people can end up scream and pressing the horn at each other... same with the internet, being anonymous and distant allows people to act outside socially acceptable norms
Panic - your answer made me laugh so much out loud. It was hilarious - but all too true I guess. I guess also that it easier to say things with annonymity than it is to speak to someone face to face.

I am pretty new to this site however, and have found people incredibly nice, helpful and friendly, no matter what time of day or night.

Best Wishes.

I don't participate in anyhting on here when it looks as if it's getting nasty. Having said that I am very difficult to upset because I have been insulted by far worse than ever gets on here so it would be like water off a duck's back!
i agree that the ones who do go off on one probably do so because of the anonymity here - they would probably not dare to do so in "real life"
I'm getting preturbed by nasty and uncalled for answers if you think the question is stupid you don't have to answer
