Not sure if this is the right place to post this but, I split from my husband a little while back and I am claiming working and family tax credit as my youngest son is in creche. Does anyone know of any other help I may be entitled to? I have a mortgage and want to keep my house so I know I wont be entitled to any housing benefit. I also work 30 hours per week.
Anyone have any advice????

You may be entitled to some housing benefit,I don't know whether the rules have changed but it used to be that you could have a mortgage and if unemployed still get housing benefit. Why not apply anyway, whats the worst that can happen?Whilst you're at it apply for council tax benefit as well.Good luck.
You wont get help with your mortgage as you are working. But you will be entitled to a 25% discount on your council tax as you are the only adult in the house
Do you claim for your sons childcare?

As a single parent you should be able to claim for up to 80% of the costs - it must be a registered body though
You own a house so you can't get housing benefit - it is only for rent. Your tax credits should include the childcare costs. There is nothing else apart from the 25% council tax discount if you are the only adult in the house, & possibly council tax benefit.
