I was weighed today at my 36weeks appt - the first time since my booking in appt.

Just out of interest, how much have you all put on? I have gained exactly 2stone. I know this is average, so am not worried about it (still have a whole month of pigging out to go LOL!), I just wondered what other people have gained, and if you have had a baby before what you gained last time and what was lost as "baby weight" i.e. baby, extra fluids, etc.

Thanks x

hi natalie.

last time i weighted 10st2 when i fell pregnant and was about 13st when i gave birth. A week later i was 9st2.

Sadly i piled on the weight again and was 11st when i fell pregnant with this one. My weight has been as high as 13st2 but has now settled at 12st10.
Hi Nat and Red,

I had my 37 week appointment today. I haven't been weighed since the 12 week scan but have been weighing myself regularly and I have so far put on exactly 3st. I guess I could still put on a few lbs.

MW said he looks to be a medium to large baby and my tummy seems to be all baby. But thats fine, I'm not worried anymore. Oh yeah, he's engaged now.

My last pregnancy I put on 3 stone and lost 1 pletty much straight away. It took 4 years to get down another stone, but I wasn't really trying. So in all I've kept on a stone of baby weight!

This time, I haven't even weighed for some reason, I think I will do soon come to think of it! (haven't got scales at home, so will sneek a peek at my mothers)

He he x
thats good news, baby engaged, although it can get a bit uncomfy from now on with the pressure below.

Dont worry about the size hun. I dont think weight makes much of a difference to a certain point :)
Thanks Red. Your right about it being uncomfortable, I can't really do much walking now and it can be sore at nights but I'm nearly there now so another few weeks of it will be bearable.

For months now I have been suffering with heartburn and stupidly listened to my sister in-law when she told me not to take Gaviscon or anything because of salt content or something and then today MW told me to take as much Gaviscon as I want. Doh! That'll teach me.
OH NO! if youd asked on here i think a lot of us wouldve said that we are drinkiong gaviscon by the bottle full! Ive got 3 types of heartburn / indigestion remedies in my handbag at all times too lol

Another good 'cure' is McDonalds milshakes lol, but they really arent very healthy
Healthy smealthy, Mcdonalds milkshake sounds good to me. lol. Can't remember the last time I had one of those but they are lovely. I'll be ok though, I went out and bought some Gaviscon tablets straight after she said.
Hi ladies, I had put on 3 1/2 stone when I last weighed myself which was about 4 weeks before baby was born. I just weighed myself again, out of curiosity, and I have lost 1 1/2 stone so far. It has dropped off me this time though. I dont even look as though I had been pregnant, Ive just got a saggy tummy :( lol
mountainboo, get gaviscon advance on prescription from your doctor. I cant believe you have been suffering in silence with it! Hope you tell your SIL off lol
Hi Psy, I most certainly will be telling her off and also never asking her advice again, lol.
I forgot to mention that my MW gave me the TENS machine today so when the pads arrive I'll give it a go.
I only put on 1 1/2 stone with my son, i was only 8 stone to begin with and i was back to 8 stone in a few weeks! In fact i lost even more weight after, i was breastfeeding and couldnt eat enough!
I put on 5 stone with my first. I went from a 34 24 34 to a 44- 44- 44. I;d like to blame it all on water retention but alas it was mostly cakes.

Everyone saying "oh you look well" when we all know that means fat.

LOL goodsy, that is so true isn't it!

Thanks all for your answers, I didn't get to read them last night.

Thankfully *touches wood* I only had heartburn for one evening for a couple of hours throughout the entire pregnancy so far, baby has not engaged just yet although s/he's getting there so I still have some pressure in my ribs from their bum and boat feet but its not so bad.
When I was pregnant the 1st time I gained about 5stone but it just fell off as I was very young the second time I didn't put on too much but it seemed to take longer to tone up
I had a massive gap with my 3rd nearly 16 years ! I gained about 6stone just pigging out really then I joined slimming world after as I was breastfeeding I needed something healthy to follow
I am still on the slimming world as my weight up and down all the time anyhow
I think as long as you and baby are healthy it doesn't really matter
Just enjoy it x
