My graphics card has gone down, a nice 150 quid number, but I can't seem to get other cards to work on the AGP slot. Did I kill the slot? Is my motherboard dead or can I change out the slot? I thought it was OK to put in the monitor lead to the computer while both were hot, I've been told I may have bust something by putting sparks across? Any of you whizzes know what I should do? Please answer soon, Half-life 2 coming out!! LOL.

i had the same sort of problem with a GeForceFX 5700Ultra. Uninstalling the drivers then reinstalling them worked luckily, just look in add/remove programs. You can change the AGP slot on the mobo, but a new one is not expensive (50 - 60). If that doesnt do it, look on the mobo's website for updated drivers and that should sort it out. I doubt very much unplugging the monitor would kill it.

IF you have another monitor plug on the mobo, try testing that with the monitor, as that would be driven by the AGP as well. Thatll let u know if that the problem.
