Kitchen extractor hood..

Hi could someone please tell me what the ideal height a extractor hood should be from a hob??

My old man reckons it should be eye level. but i reckon it should be more forehead level, Any ideas???

You can`t go by forehead level as you may only be 4ft or 6ft10in. I believe it should be 3ft above the hob.

Cheers. I was thinking around 800mm from the hob??

Regulation height from top of hob to bottom of extractor is for Gas - min 750mm and for electric min 700 mm.
