That article is utter crap.I have a child with Asperger Syndrom who received all his vaccinations.I have never once thought that his condition was connected to the vaccines given.
Yes I can see its pretty alarming!, The problem is that not all children are adversely affected by the MMR jab, It could be that some children are biologically pre-disposed to it, I am not surptised there is such a drop in take up
Not really any proof, all my children will have vaccinations

I have read before the fors and againsts for the MMR vaccine.

I think that all parents should be aware that there might be a risk but also that it is as yet an unproven link. Werent the scientists involved admitting they may have got it wrong at one point.

Its also worth noting how many unvaccinated children, who came into contact with Measles, would be likely to die or be brain damaged from the disease.

It was only the combined MMR that was queried so Im all for a parent paying for individual vaccinations if they can and want to do so.

i'm not saying there is a link...I'm just saying it made me think.

but i will add that i have never known anyone personally who believes there is a link with autism and vaccines or whose child has suffered abnormal reactions to vaccines.

like i said...it just made me think..
I do agree daffy, sometimes the parent does not notice the onset of symptoms of autism until the child is in school, If the jab was linked to autism there would be a massive amount of people being diagnosed.

Although Diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder is on the up, it is more to do with people being more aware of the condition itself than the MMR
I think this was just a one off.

The child obviously had something wrong with them and maybe, I am saying maybe it was connect to the vacine and was triggered off.
Only probalem I can see with the individual vaccine is that they can only be given 6 months apart and thus leaving your child open to harmful viruses in the meentime!

I think it's worth reading up on the full story as I am in a long list of children who were given the combined with no effect.

I think children must have a genetic 'reason' for any effect as I can't see how it would not have effected others.

It's worth reading though MiniN x

funnygirl, that's what conclusion I came to after i read the article. it does mention in the article that it could have triggered a 'pre-disposed' illness.
I used to take a young lady to school (special needs) and her mum swears her daughters autism is due to the jab- very soon after she had the jab she went from being a lovely lively chatty inquizitive tot to the way she is now, and this mother knows of others who feel the same re their children
This is why its such a contentious issue!
andrea, if a parent is deciding on individual jabs or none at all then 6 months wait between is better than nothing.

My son has had the MMR and so will the new arrival. My own personal opinion is that changes in behavious can be more noticable around the times of these jabs and boosters rather than connected to.
The MMR vaccine is given at the same age that Autism can be diagnosed in children. I don't think there is a link between the MMR vaccine and Autistic Spectrum Disorder.x
The child had an "underlying mitrochondrial disorder".....meaning,I believe,it was genetic. Hardly a reason for ALL parents to see vacines as a danger. NOT having them is more dangerous-not just for the individual child but for the whole population......it is a matter of the 'lesser evil' being the most desireable choice.

definately agree with you pasta that if everybody stopped their kids from having vaccines then we would all be in danger.
Redcrx,

I agree that having individual ones are better than nothing at all. I was surprised that you had to wait so long inbetween.
wasn't this whole thing debunked some time ago when the guy that had supposedly done all the research etc was in the pay of a drug company and all his research was found to be total codswallop?
