help! i worked for a company for just over 3 years as Assistant Manager. had my day off and got a call from my manager to say i needed to come up to the shop. I needed to bring my keys and empty my locker out as the company had ceased trading with immediate effect! no warning or notice. we were informed from head office via fax and were told the liquidator would be in touch over fe pay. on payday (25th) nothing entered our bank accounts and we have since learnt that there wasnt and still isnt any liquidators to date! surely they cant just close us and not pay anything. were entitled to wages, redundancy, holiday, commision, and noice pay. but anyone know how we can get it? the company is still active with no liquidators, our head office is in scotland and im in the midlands. ive just got a new job but cant just miss out a months money!

A solicitor or Citizens Advice Bureau would be able to advise on this matter. Its a shame your company did this in such an underhanded way. I hope you manage to get what is owed to you.Good luck.x
If the company is insolvent then there is a Government scheme under which you would - eventually - get your money. But from what you say it appears they may not be insolvent. I suggest you contact ACAS helpline, or go to CAB - either are free. A solicitor may be needed later, but don't spend out yet.
You can claim redundancy money from Employment Tribunal through the government scheme. Take advice from CAB immediately.
