I live in a house bought with my boyfriend in feb 07, we both put in 10k deposit and mortgage is in both names. We have split up but both still live in the property but i want to sell it and move on with my life. Can i make him sell the property? If it came to it i would be happy to just get my deposit back and 3k i spent on new bathroom and walk away. My parents think i should have half though. We have no kids and both work full time. what can i do? what are my rights?

If your ex wont sell then you need to take him to court to force a sale. As you are both paying the mortgage and have no kids it would be a 50/50 split. Have you asked your ex to buy you out?
Hi

I was in this position last year and my x would not sell the house. In the end i told him to buy me out and it took 4 weeks to sort. Someone will value the house and the profit will be split 50/50.

If he is funny with you go and see a solicitor or citizens advice and they will help you
