There is two ways to do this. The best one being through a router, which will cost around 40. This holds the connection and routes it to the computer as and when it needs it. One computer doesn't have to be on to let the other computer connect. The other, less reliable way is to have one computer on the main broadband connection, and have the other one share it using a Proxy. A proxy however, doesn't give unlimited internet access. It blocks you from using a few protocols etc. You also have to have one PC act like a host, this will need to be turned on and on the internet when you want to use the other system. If you want to go wireless, I suggest you also look into getting a Wireless Access point that can run alongside your router, or even a wireless router on its own.. and also some PCI or PCMCIA cards for PC ad Laptop respectfully (if you have a laptop)
