As this post is addressed to you two personally, no one else will read it.
Looking through the chronicles of AnswerBank, you each frequent Q & P with the same intent: too verbally 'attack' and harass anyone who dares ask a question relating to quizzes in general and Macmillan in particular.
Many ABers, have not welcomed your criticisms of them using this website to seek answers. Could you tell everyone why you have self-appointed yourselves as site 'policemen'?
Let me remind you. The compiler of the Macmillan Summer Quiz took the trouble to write on here last November to put the record straight.
Coincidentally he/she posted into a thread you were both involved with.

sir.prize - I think your memory must be going? Do you not recall the thread we were both involved in last weekend? To jog your memory, it went something like this:

Now, perhaps you could enlighten me as to why you are now accusing me of being something that you stated I was not?

If you read other threads, you will see that there seems to be a growing number of other people who think quizzes are being spoiled by too many answers being given away on here. When it comes to charity quizzes, people support the charity by buying the quiz, that doesn't then mean they have to resort to any means to get the answers. When an answer is posted on here, it is in the public domain - unlike doing the work yourself at the library or on google. It's a novel idea, but why can't people leave blank spaces if they can't work out the answer themselves?

sodemall. I do not intend to continue responding to you. Other users on here have done that admirably.You have your opinions, and that is ok. But there are many people on AnswerBank who do not necessarily agree with you. Equally i am sure they feel that you repeatedly branding them 'cheats' is not necessary and overtly offensive.

As far as I am concerned the idea of the quiz is to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, which I'm sure you will all agree is a very worthwhile cause.
I try to include questions which cannot be Googled but, of course, cannot prevent questions being asked and answers being given on this site; and I have no intention of stopping it. Most contributors to AB are very friendly and will help where possible. It's just a club to which you may or may not wish to belong. If you join you must expect to play by the rules. If rules aren't broken then there should be no discussion!
I am quite sure that the people at the head of our 'leader board' each quiz research most of the questions themselves. I can usually work out who has asked which question and I can tell from the 'wrong' answers that some do confer with each other but I have no problem with that. That is why we have a few prizes for the 'also rans'.
I hope that ABers will continue to support the quizzes for what they are; fund-raisers. and I hope to do battle in the New Year.

Many other users here have been criticised for the manner in which they seek answers to quizzes; and noticeably you have jumped onto sodemall's mission to be perpetually loitering in Q and P, equally adding fuel top up his fire. If that is not policing then I am indeed wrong. If it is policing then let others judge.

You have still not explained, sir.prize, why you have chosen to draw attention to quiz questions which I put on Answer Bank in January this year and February last year, from quizzes that have long since closed for entry. I can only brand you as another trouble-maker, alongside sodemall ,boysinblue, and a few others, because your actions are "policing" , also.
If you choose to apologise, that would be fine, but in any event, can all of us - sensible people - just return to the asking and answering of questions, from wherever they happen to originate.

Of course, in attempting to gather info to defend this issue, I did a little Googling to find the pros and cons of asking quiz questions on AnswerBank.
My search threw up instance of where you appeared to be on both sides of the fence. Asking questions in one respect and in others specifically stating not to in another.
I now see that you are more inclined to ask for answers on here and certainly are not against the practice.
In that context, I am more than happy to say I was wrong in my assertions.
So, as I said at the head of this post, I can say sorry.
But I do not feel that apologies are in order to others who hound the competitors and harass them with petty callings on a regular basis.

keyboardix - so, you have "branded" me a trouble-maker? As I have said before, I am only voicing my opinion - if you do not agree with that opinion, why am I branded the trouble maker and not you as well? I thought this was a democracy where we were ALL entitled to our opinions (especially when they were put without being rude or offensive).
The fact remains that an increasing number of people seem to agree that quizzes are being ruined. When one individual asks for answers to more than half of the questions in one quiz, where is the enjoyment/satisfaction in that?
I fully accept the words from Munden (as the quiz setter), but still feel I am entitled to voice my opinion.
By the same token, if you are going to go on Munden's words, then can the AB regulars also abide by the request from the quiz setter at GBQ and GFQ where he specifically asked that answers to his questions should NOT be given away on here?

This site is for asking and answering questions, without harassment, and I shall welcome the day (if it ever comes) when every contributor has to openly reveal his or her name and address, and, thereby, not hide behind usernames, some of which, I consider offensive.
