How did the film atomic tests?

In the video, there is footage of atomic testing where they blew up cars, tree and buildings. How did they manage to do it without damaging the camera in the process? The camera remains perfectly still, while everything around it is flying everywhere and bursting into flames.

Ever heard of a telephoto lens?
I believe that telephoto lenses were used but also that the cameras were built into underground bunkers with just the smallest aperture to film through. They were also probably on shock proof mountings to stabilise them.
Sorry guys! All wrong so far. The truth is my mate Ted and his mates did it. Said it smarted a little but at least the was no racisum after cos they were all black.........and crispy!
