I am currently off sick from work (i work part-time approx 25 hours per week) and have been for the past 3 weeks. Now my employer has said that when i return to work they can probably only offer me 8 hours. Can they just give my shifts away like that? They haven't given me anything in writing at the minute it's all just verbal. Do i have any rights in this matter.

Tigger , I reckon its there way of getting even with you , I would take the 8 hours on offer , note down any efforts to un seat you from your position and perhaps make good use of your additinal free time looking for another job , failing that you may have to earn you hours back with good behaviour . attendance etc ..... Problem is most genuine people don't choose to be ill , I hope you get on fine tigger ....
