it used to be a legal requirement for the names of all business directors to be listed on company letterheading. Is this still applicable or has it changed?

No, it isnt necessary to list them, though if you do list one director you must list them all.
I haven't got any directors names on my letterheads.. i didn't read that as a requirement. i think you need registered office, company number and place of registration. not sure about much else. i found a good website that told me what needed to be on them.

Ho Lompablue- when was it a legal requirement? In times of Charles Dickens?

Yes, i am showing my age a bit - it was over 20 years ago. It used to cause a nightmare for law firms who had several partners and regularly had to reprint letterheading...
Law firms would have been a special case because of Law Society Rules covering listings of parteners, solicitors. I think you can simply say on your paper "please refer to our website for a list of solicitors"
